Darokay. I think I got somewhere here. So I checked out the cm 11 manifest, replaced all packages with hybris equivalent where possible, so in essence just a very bloated manifest and perhaps some tag differences. After sync/clean you name it, still the same result: no rule to make target `updater'. I then reverted the part path for "build" in the manifest to use package CyanogenMod/android_build instead of mer-hybris/android_build. It seems t14:21
Daro have helped something: it is currently happily compiling for target updater.14:21

DarI made it to the build_packages.sh-step. Because of a dependency I ended up at https://github.com/sailfishos. It seems there are a lot of packages there.16:52
DarIs it customary to build all or some of these? if so which ones? if not, how does one later obtain, say, a  web browser?16:52
sledgesDar: mal-: this is exactly the task carepack had - come up with script which lists all dirs that have Android.mk, then add that list to build/core/main.mk (to complement saifish explicit dirs patch with full set)16:55
sledgesthen bisect it16:55
sledgesto see which exacy dependencies gone amiss16:55
sledgesDar: browser is included with sailfishos image that you will build. all you are modifying now is hardware adaptation. middleware and UI are decoupled from that16:57
sledgessailfishos hosts gstreamer though, historical reasons (should be in mer-core instead)16:57
