Dante_Jhi stephg05:27
Dante_JI have a 'spare' android phone and I'm interested in seeing how far I can get porting Sailfishos to it.05:28
stephgcool. Which device is it and is there a working Cyanogenmod for it?05:29
Dante_JIt's a Bauhn AAP5-815. I've not identified a Cyanogenmod for it, but it seems very likely that this phone is just a renamed whitelable phone, possible a xiaomi. I'm attempting to determine what its a copy of, and then look for an equivalent Cyanogenmod.05:32
stephgDante_J: well good luck!05:33
Dante_Jty05:33
Dante_Jits just for fun. I really love SailfishOS and I'd like to get to know it better attempting to get it running on 'unusual' hardware.05:34

entilcraaaap, the fp2 hasn't always booted fine and I haven't really cared because the port is in alpha, but it seems the "fairphone" background text has been burned onto the screen now06:26
entiland "powered by android" on the lower part of the screen of course06:26
entildoes anyone know how long this'll take to get reset or can I do something about it, hopefully not involvingin buying a new screen?06:27
entilcould this be an issue with "Keep display on while charging"? that though the battery is in bad shape, recharging it shows the fairphone screen (that I mistake for badly booting) and that's why it's all stuck06:30
spiiroinentil: if it is lcd, then fullscreen = pure white for a while might help (google "apple lcd burn in")06:34

UmeaboyNokius: I just ran into an failed step in the HADK and I have double checked everything to be correct before I ended up with this issue.06:35
spiiroinentil: do you know if the charging happens in sfos or something else (like bootloader)?06:35
UmeaboyWhat's the content of your scorpion.xml?06:35
entilspiiroin: thanks for the tip about the white lcd, and I don't know where the charging happens, but I guess it's the bootloader, so the sfos setting should not affect it unless it's stored in hardware06:37
mal-spiiroin: afaik in fp2 there is not charging only mode, at least I haven't found out how to get into one06:39
entilok so I powered down the device and hooked in the charger and the texts lit up06:39
spiiroinmal-: there might be some "really empty battery" special case06:39
entilthe battery is not especially empty now06:39
spiiroinentil: the "Keep display on while charging" is pure sw (in mce); also, it is ignored in act-dead06:41
entilspiiroin: lol I was just typing a line stating I validated that06:41
entilhad to clear it and reply to you - so this is something fp2 owners should be mindful of06:41
UmeaboyWhenever you read this please send me a PM with a link to the scorpion.xml that you used to build with so that I can get passed my issue. there are two files or more missing and I don't feel like adding TheMuppets repo to the scorpion.xml since it's proprietary. That's a last resort.06:49
UmeaboyI meant a memo.06:50

maikooolI'm currently trying to compile with hybris-13.0, and running into this issue: https://github.com/mer-hybris/droid-hal-device/issues/12610:14
maikooolnow I thought (with zero C/Cpp experience), if i just add the missing parameter as NULL, as described in the upstream commit, all will at least compile well10:14

nh1402_workmaikoool: is the razr-i worse then? how intel is that?11:16
maikoooldunno, let me have a look11:16
nh1402_workI have a feeling they're going to continue to reduce power consumption until it's the same CPU in both Laptop and Desktops, and then they might consider taking another shot11:21
maikooolI think arm will always be better than intel in regards to performance/power use ratios11:21
maikooolthey have always been11:22
nh1402_workwell they found in far more devices11:23
nh1402_workthey are found*11:23
maikooolnh1402_work: the razr-i seems to use some TI chips for wifi and gps11:24
maikooolcant find the modem type, but would make sense if that's also a TI11:24
maikooolat least there's unofficial cm11 for it11:25
maikooolthat zenfone 2 is already on cm1311:25
nh1402_workon the other side of the fence AMD Zen is apparently going to be found in embedded devices, doubt that would include phones though11:28
nh1402_workor AMD's delayed ARM chips11:28
nh1402_workthey are designed for servers iirc11:28
tbrmaikoool: TI never had a modem, that's also the reason why they shuttered OMAP - they couldn't compete with chips that had integrated modems11:29
maikooolah ok11:30
locusfnh1402_work: eh?11:32
maikooolnh1402_work: do you have an url with some more info on the sony mainlining project?11:33

mal-jusa_: any idea why pulseaudio-modules-droid builds as 8.0 on obs but pulseaudio-modules-droid-glue doesn't?12:30
mal-jusa_: the latter builds as 6.012:30
jusa_mal-: yep, there is some a-bit-too-clever version numbering scripting in the spec file by me..12:30
jusa_and those are evaluated when the package is updated, now the package was pushed when pulseaudio was at version 6.0, so the spec file has that as the version prefix12:31
jusa_it really builds against 8.0, everything goes fine in build etc, just that the version is 6.0.x12:32

Litewi want to place library in /usr/libexec/droid-hybris/system/lib directory, do i need to copy needed file to $ANDROID_ROOT/installroot dir and mention it straggle_files section?18:46
Litew*in18:46
maikooolLitew: no, sparse directory can be used for that18:47
maikooolhybris/droid-configs/sparse/18:47
mal-Litew: where does that lib come from?18:47
Litewmal-: from stock ROM. Stock rom has library that is needed by 2 processes, but CM11 doesn't have this file18:49
mal-strange, usually the vendor blob repos contain such files18:49
Litewmal-: quipc_igsn and quipc_main18:49
Litewfile is called libbson.so18:50
Litewso sparse files not only for configs but for binary files too right?18:51
maikooolnot very good practice, but should work just fine18:51
maikooola file is a file, right?18:51
mal-yes, should work but ugly18:51

MacaquesonHi. Does anyone know if it is possible to install Sailfish OS on a Fairphone1?19:35
