rinigusre cm base update: ballock, since I couldn't flash the zip with the CM system difference (yog4p->yog7d), I tried to untar the tgz after installation of SFOS. What worked was extracting an archive into the multirom ROM directory (data/.stowaways/sailfishos) while booted in other working SFOS installation.07:51
rinigusballock: after this update, all worked nicely (playback, camera movie recording)07:52
ballockrinigus: Well... if we were following this route, it would make more sense to only compile/get the yog7d libraries that sfos uses.07:53
rinigusballock: probably. although it would take some time to filter them out. and sfdroid might use almost all anyway07:54
ballockrinigus: then I vote for actually trying to overwrite the yog4p system partition files.07:55
ballockrinigus: after all, they are mountable in twrp, and writable07:55
ballockmmcblk0p21 iirc07:56
rinigusballock: that's what I was trying to do. after mounting /system, writing all the libs/apps that were different between cm's07:56
ballockI don't know how this looks in multirom, though.07:56
rinigusballock: yep, multirom keeps main rom on that partition07:57

rinigusballock: yeah, I was trying different options (bz2 vs gz) and maybe something is not consistent anymore. re ext4 - yes, I corrected that in the version that you used.14:23

ballockrinigus: I don't think you did. I only got 1 update.android.zip, and it'14:24
ballocks got a yaffs2 mount in it14:24
ballockrinigus: Now once I'm looking at it, the idea behind both is fine - they mount the original system partition and overwrite files in there.14:25
rinigusballock: the one that has the patched system, right? not the dummy one? let's make dummy working first and then we can make the full version later. I have to run now, will be back late tonight or we could continue tomorrow. I'll check the code in git again in the meantime...14:26
ballockrinigus: To be pedantic on the update, you could check if there were any files removed on yog4p->yog7d and add some removal stanzas for them.14:26

rinigusballock: after your fix, success over here as well! under multirom: I managed to install SFOS + CM YOG4PA base; boot into it; with devel-su go to /data/.stowaways/sailfishos/system and untar the patch. Reboot and camera works, video playback works, as expected on YOG7D19:53
rinigusballock: I updated the repo in git and the README. If you could test whether the given instructions and scripts work if you use two CM ROM zip's as an input19:56
