ghosalmartinwell thats sensors working :)22:15
ghosalmartinbut the camera completely shot :P22:30
sledgespun intended22:34
saidinesh5sledges: ! wanted to ask you.. is there any specific reason for systemd  to handle the mounts instead of dhi?22:35
sledgesi think the person who was involved in deciding this at that time was Sage__22:38
sledgesin some cases, it's good to already have a mount before dhi starts, mainly /system22:39
sledgesand some others for firmwares22:39
saidinesh5but dhi also has the code for mounting things.. unless we neutered that bit specifically during the build22:39
saidinesh5so was curious22:40
saidinesh5and well.. that seems to get rid fo the weird race condition of system mounting after dhi in my device22:41
saidinesh5so wondering what the consequences would be to let only dhi take care of the mounts ..22:41
sledgeswe neuter that bit during the build; https://github.com/mer-hybris/droid-hal-device/blob/master/droid-hal-device.inc#L41722:43
sledgesso dhi is totally freed from mounting anything22:45
ghosalmartinsledges, for bt, any idea if new chipsets need to be defined in kernels btusb.c22:45
saidinesh5yup. but for some odd reaason there seems to be an issue when systemd does the mounting on my device. either  a kernel panic because of soem interrupt..22:45
sledgesghosalmartin: bt is terra incognita for me.. try jusa__22:46
saidinesh5oor system not mounting on time for dhi on some magical boots22:46
saidinesh5and THEN the panic22:46
ghosalmartinfair enough :)22:46
sledgessaidinesh5: systemd does the mounting of /system ?22:46
sledges(and then panic strikes)22:47
sledgesor some other mountpoint(s)22:47
* saidinesh5 has to check22:47
saidinesh5rebooting lets see22:47
sledgesyou can mount /system manually in pre-init (after touch /init_enter_debug2)22:47
sledgesand then go ahead with boot22:48
saidinesh5okay this boot failed22:48
saidinesh5so we will have logs22:48
saidinesh5sledges: https://bpaste.net/show/562652a4082922:49
saidinesh5this is a kernel panic one..22:50
saidinesh5[   39.711618] mmc0: Timeout waiting for hardware interrupt.22:50
sledgessaidinesh5: [   22.675194] init: fs_mgr_mount_all returned an error22:52
saidinesh5that's probably because of missing fstab.qcom22:52
saidinesh5init = dhi right?22:52
saidinesh5its also there in a successful boot:22:53
saidinesh5sh-3.2# dmesg | grep mount_all22:53
saidinesh5[   32.613188] init: fs_mgr_mount_all returned an error22:53
saidinesh5[   32.614031] init: fs_mgr_mount_all returned unexpected error 25522:53
sledgesinit = dhi yes22:53
sledgessaidinesh5: https://askubuntu.com/a/70402822:57
sledgesor quicker: https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/mmc0-Timeout-waiting-for-hardware-interrupt-RFS-is-not-loaded/m-p/731777#M1740022:57
sledges"in the kernel bootargs you can pass the string sdhci.debug_quirks=64"22:58
sledgesalso compare kernel cmdline between your device's android and sfos22:58
sledgesis just a workaround, but a start i hope22:58
sledgesif cmdlines are the same, then something is definitely wrong in init sfos vs normal android boot, will be harder to find22:58
sledgesgood luck!22:59
* sledges dives back down22:59
saidinesh5i was under the assumptiont hat this could be some kernel race condition due to systemd trying to mount things parallely22:59
saidinesh5because Mi4 ( I am using Mi3) doesnt seem to have this issue23:00

sledgesyou can mount /system (and any other required mountpoints) manually in pre-init (after touch /init_enter_debug2 and rebooting)23:06
sledges(after having disabled systemd mount units)23:06
sledgessaidinesh5: ^23:06
saidinesh5Which is preferred? letting the dhi  do the mounts using fstab.qcom - like android. or manually mounting things pre-init?23:08
saidinesh5okay moment of truth. rebooting23:09
sledgestry the android way first, but you'll need to undo all the neutering (which is not only commented out lines in /*.rc but also invoking fstab.qcom)23:09
sledges(which i forgot how that was neutered:)23:10

saidinesh5or some weird device tree config...23:20
saidinesh5Okay there are a lot of quirks.. i need to find the one that matches my device23:21
saidinesh5that can be done..23:21
sledgesany docs on that?23:21
sledgesremember that android isn't going for those things, and works23:21
sledgesso try not to get too carried away:)23:21
sledgesyet as long as it works...;)23:21
saidinesh5dunno .. digging throught hte code.. grepping for quirks: https://github.com/CancroSailors/android_kernel_xiaomi_cancro/blob/hybris-12.1/drivers/mmc/host/sdhci.c23:22

saidinesh5btw. sledges on a totally unrelated.. bug23:23

saidinesh5mkdir /sys/fs/cgroup/net_cls/lxc works23:25
