krrrcksI have a problem with ofono/telephony: My sim card doesn't get recognized. All entries in the log show something like "GENERIC_FAILURE" -> SET_UICC_SUBSCRIPTION -> and so on. I opened a case at Jolla's support and a thread at TJC. I'd like to help find the source of this problem but got stuck. Any ideas?16:12
krrrcksmonich: Maybe you have an idea? Or a hint how I can get more debugging information out of my device?16:14

piggzguhl: getting rid of lipstick hack19:25
piggzdid you figure out how to bring up the display19:26
guhlpiggz, i have a working version for that but it basically just packs the lipstick hack into minisfservice and surfaceflinger19:26

Mister_Magisterguhl: actually i wanted explanation from you cuz with piggz hack startup wizard is not working with first boot19:28
Mister_Magisterand i forgot you gave me19:28
guhli am using the thea like this for a week now and did several reboots -> very stable19:29
guhlon the other hand the vision is not very satisfying19:30
guhlthe output on surfaceflinger works great but otherwise it is rather unstable19:30
piggzguhl: so, you link libsurgaceflinger, and call surfaceflinger-init() to bring up the display?19:33
guhljust calling init alone is not enough19:35
guhli also have to start the main loop19:36
guhlbut i hacked the MessageQueue so that it exits after x seconds (x=3)19:37
guhland the i also hacked the run() of SurfaceFlinger so that it exists when the MessageQueue threads exit19:38
guhlstill a total hack but it is very stable as there are no timing issues between starting surfaceflinger and minisfservice19:39
guhlafter my experience with rendering on surfaceflinger for the vision I almost consider also switching to surfaceflinger instead of hwcomposer also on the thea19:43
piggzguhl: not possible to work out what code is needed, and add it to lipstick?19:46

guhlmaybe i should fix my kernel first - when trying to get bluetooth working i create a kernel crash every few milliseconds21:20
guhlMister_Magister, I am but I think the there is a very little user base for the thea21:21
guhlcompared to the titan21:21
Mister_Magisteryeah that titan is really weird if you look at x force or x play or nexus 7 2013… well pico have bigger user base21:21
guhlbut that does not matter the important thing is that we got the family well supported21:22
Mister_Magisteryeah i'll go for moto x1 and x2 in december21:22
Mister_Magisterand when crowdfunding will be over for x style i'll cover all moto x 2015 family21:22
Mister_Magisterand with x1 and x2 i'll cover all x family21:23
Mister_Magisterand we already cover all g family21:23
Mister_Magistersomebody need to go for moto e now. there is already port for moto e2 and e2 lte21:23
Mister_Magisterohno soon we will run out of motorolas21:24
guhli will go to z (as soon as the hw keyboard exists)21:24
Mister_Magisterlenovo is shit really. Since my internal memory died in x force lenovo is even bigger shit for me. Like in htc pico half of the internal memory is badblock phone has above 5 years and it's stil running21:25
guhlMister_Magister, did you have bluetooth working on the pico21:27
Mister_Magisternope21:27
Mister_Magisteri even that it have smd flag21:27
Mister_Magisterwifi worked ootb though… it's first device i have seen wifi working ootb21:27
guhli tried to hack the smd stuff into my kernel sources bit that was not too successful21:28
Mister_Magisterouch your droidmedia is more up to date than mine or should i say mine is outdated21:28
Mister_Magistermine already had it. Well i once hacked smd from my 3.4 titan kernel into 3.10 x play and it worked not fully but worked. that was crazy idea. then i learned that i should do that and found link to pathes :D21:29
guhlMister_Magister, yes i updated the git before patching it21:29
Mister_Magisterpullmerged now need to patch it21:33
guhlxreactx, yes that looks OK but why don't you just set DEVICE=cheesburger as described in 4.121:34
xreactxits already set. i was having an issue earlier where i was getting this error: "Error <creator>: URLGrabber error: https://store-repository.jolla.com/releases/2.1.2.3/jolla-hw/adaptation-oneplus-cheeseburger/armv7hl/repodata/repomd.xml"21:35
*** Halamix2 <Halamix2!~Halamix2@unaffiliated/halamix2> has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)21:35
Mister_Magisternice patched21:37
xreactxwhen i run the "rpm/dhd/helpers/build_packages.sh" command i get "no git url specified" while its building the packages... i looked through the porting guide... was i supposed to set a URL or local-repo directory?21:37
guhlxreactx, if you are building locally the repos in the ks file should look like21:38
guhlrepo --name=adaptation0-thea-@RELEASE@ --baseurl=file:///home/guhl/mer/thea.cm12/droid/droid-local-repo/thea21:38
guhl##repo --name=adaptation-community-thea-@RELEASE@ --baseurl=http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/devel:/hw:/motorola:/thea/sailfish_latest_@ARCH@/21:38
guhlrepo --name=adaptation-community-common-thea-@RELEASE@ --baseurl=http://repo.merproject.org/obs/nemo:/devel:/hw:/common/sailfish_latest_@ARCH@/21:38
guhlso adaption0 should point to your local repository and adaptation-community-common to the obs21:39
xreactxcan you pastebin your entire kickstart file?21:39
xreactxand how you enter 8.321:39
guhlxreactx, this is my "local-build" KS for the thea https://paste.opensuse.org/767910721:41
guhlthe line 17 (commented) would be the repo if you build on OBS instead of local21:42
guhlregarding the 8.3 question. I just enter the commands as given in 8.321:44
guhl(but i did not do it in a long time as i just save my KS-file somewhere and copy it to $ANDROID_ROOT before i do the mic command21:44
xreactxhmm, now i'm having the issue where my .ks file is not being create...21:47
xreactxany ideas?21:47
guhlwhen you do the commands in 8.421:49
guhlare you in $ANDROID_ROOT21:49

guhlwell xreactx why don't you just save the KS i pasted to $ANDROID_ROOT and call it Jolla-@RELEASE@-$DEVICE-@ARCH@.ks21:54
guhland then edit it and replace thea with cheesburger21:54
xreactxi was thinking about doing that21:54
raandoomr0kk3rz: hi, i need your help :) i grep'ed irc logs and found that you had systemd error at sfos boot21:55
guhland of course the file will be called Jolla-@RELEASE@-cheesburger-@ARCH@.ks21:55
raandoomerror about sys/fs/cgroup/systemd: no such file21:55
raandoomr0kk3rz: from logs i dont fully understand the solution... is this https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=0640113be25d283e0ff77a9f041e1242182387f0 patch the only thing that helped you or you made something else?21:58
malraandoom: also enable these in kernel defconfig (if you have 3.4 kernel) CONFIG_CGROUP_MEM_RES_CTLR, CONFIG_CGROUP_MEM_RES_CTLR_SWAP, CONFIG_CGROUP_MEM_RES_CTLR_KMEM or (for 3.10 and newer) CONFIG_MEMCG, CONFIG_MEMCG_SWAP, CONFIG_MEMCG_KMEM22:00
xreactxand we're off (build starting)22:00
Mister_Magisterguhl: you don't have CONFIG_MEMCG_KMEM in vision :p22:01
raandoommal, hmmm, thanks, seems like i have all options about cgroup enabled :)22:02
guhlMister_Magister, yes but I do not seem to miss it22:03
Mister_Magisterin my repo there is patch for it if oyu want22:03
xreactxand i'm not getting any errors...22:06
* Mister_Magister copies from HADK22:06
Mister_MagisterPlease build droidmedia as per HADK instructions22:06
Mister_MagisterOOOKAAAYY22:06
guhlhehe22:06
Mister_Magisterwhy there is still make -jXX in hadk? why not just simply put make -j$(nproc)22:09
xreactxguhl: can you pastebin one of your build outputs? I get several warnings throughout the build22:13
xreactxjust want to compare to see if my issues are common or uncommon...22:14
malraandoom: notice that the cgroup flags are a bit different depending on kernel version22:15
guhlxreactx, I can't build atm but warnings are totally normal. Do you have the finale zip (or tar.gz)?22:15
xreactxyes22:15
xreactxbut my last few builds nothing happens... just bootloops and i cannot telnet22:15
xreactxbut this build has the most amount of packages being installed (i went from 698 to 714)22:16
Mister_Magisterguhl: i'm supposed to build dhd too? to include libsurfaceflinger.os22:17
Mister_Magisterso*22:17
raandoommal, ofc, i see it, i have 3.4 and there is no any of *MEMCG*  options22:17
xreactxguhl: do you get "Tracker miners busy, waiting... qemu: uncaught target signal 8 (Floating point exception) - core dumped" near the end of your builds?22:17
Mister_Magisterxreactx: yeah it's normal22:18
xreactxok22:18
xreactxand "WARNING: DBus call failed, falling back to libssu: The permission of the setuid helper is not correct"22:18
r0kk3rzyeah mic spews some garbage22:19
r0kk3rzbut generally if the script finishes its ok22:20
xreactxok. ive seen them  with every build. but when i install on my device it'll hang at 45% (depicting on adb sideload <sfos zip>) and22:20
r0kk3rzhave you tried installing via recovery instead?22:22
guhlMister_Magister, I just saw the "Bluetooth for Broadcomm devices" section in the faq-hadk22:26
Mister_Magisternice22:27
Mister_Magisterguhl: btw can you answer?22:27
guhlI think that applies more to the vision and maybe the pico22:27
guhlsorry did not see that22:27
Mister_Magisterwell i dropped pico22:27
r0kk3rzguhl: you have broadcom bt?22:28
guhljust build libsurfaceflinger in the android side and then build the hal22:28
guhlnor sure yet but i do have a CONFIG_BT_HCIUART_H4 in my kernel22:29
Mister_Magisterguhl: you told to build droidmedia22:29
Mister_Magisterbut building hal is needed to include libsurfaceflinger22:30
guhlof course22:30
guhland also edit init.rc22:30
Mister_Magisterhaving intel xeon was beautiful choice22:30
Mister_Magistermake -j1222:31
guhland build hybris-hal22:31
guhl:-P22:31
Mister_Magisterguhl: hybris-hal takes me less than 3 minutes after make clean22:32
Mister_Magisterno ccache22:32
guhli7-3667U CPU @ 2.00GHz is what i am building on22:32
malif anyone is interested in testing I implemented OpenCL support to upstream libhybris https://github.com/mlehtima/libhybris-1/tree/opencl22:33
guhlxreactx, just for info - https://paste.opensuse.org/87122851 mic output22:34
Mister_Magisterguhl: weak power :D22:35
xreactxguhl: ok, i get the same22:36
Mister_Magistermal: i'm thinking od using mainline kernel in nexus 7 2013 port. Do you suspect any problems?22:36
xreactxguhl: i forget, do you have a 64bit device?22:37
malMister_Magister: well it depends on the hardware support22:37
Mister_Magistermal: i if you mean android yeah there are some problems but i'm asking if sailfish will not have problems with mainline kernel22:38
malMister_Magister: I was asking how is the hardware support in mainline kernel22:38
guhlxreactx, no i don't yet22:39
Mister_Magistermal: i don't get what do you mean? Android is working with mainline kernel on it just some problems like bt not working22:39
malMister_Magister: now I don't understand, how can android work with mainline kernel, I thought mainline doesn't have all android modifications22:40
xreactxmal: can you advise on the 64bit kernel configs that are different from 32bit (i.e. mem_res_ctlr on 32bit vs. memcg on 64bit)22:40
Mister_Magisterwell it does, codeaurora have mainline kernel sources for android22:40
guhlr0kk3rz, what exactly do you mean by "You need to make sure your filename matches your device name, which can be found by stracing hciattach"22:41
malxreactx: those are not related to 64 vs 32 bit, those are based on kernel version22:41
Mister_Magistermal: https://wiki.linaro.org/LMG/Kernel/FormFactorEnablement22:41
xreactxahh, yup..22:42
malxreactx: you don't have to think about 64-bit vs 32-bit in kernel, you just use whatever kernel the device has and adapt the defconfig based on mer-kernel-check22:42
malwhich reminds me, the MEMCG stuff needs to be added to the kernel checker22:43
r0kk3rzguhl: basically when it tries to find the firmware file, it uses a very specific filename22:43
xreactxthats what i've done... however the difference between setting mem_res_ctlr and memcg means setting the first one wont build because its not applicable to the kernel version22:43
xreactxalso, CAF or non-CAF for SFOS... does it make a difference?22:43
r0kk3rzguhl: which for me was like BCM3450C0.hcd or something22:44
guhlr0kk3rz, OK i'll try to figure that out thanks22:47
Mister_Magisterhmm mal instructions to that kernel are using master aosp22:52

malthere shouldn't be much difference in aosp and cm kernels22:57
Mister_Magisteroh okay thanks i'll just try syncing this kernel and building sfos with it23:01
guhlMister_Magister, did you ever try a titan build that was CM (or LOS) 13 based?23:03
Mister_Magisterwe will see what will happen23:03
Mister_Magisternah why?23:03
guhlfun, learning, experience, ... :-)23:04
Mister_Magisterno? don't have time for this shit moto x force and pico is enaugh experience for me thanks23:06
guhlMister_Magister, I'll go to sleep now hope you got everything together23:07
Mister_Magisterand there will not be many difference, its23:08
Mister_Magisterit's pointless23:08
