piggzmal ... thank goodness for bt snoop logs ..... working from the code in gadget bridge, I implemented the notifiiation service ... it works, and sends a notification, but doesnt look as good as the notification from the MiFit app ... so, i looked at the logs, and MiFit sends to a different service/characteristic, which is labelled in GadgetBridge as 'unknown'09:43
piggzI guess MiFit uses a proprietary end point for nicer notifications09:43

MeowDudeprebuilt kernel bad!!!!!!09:44
*** Pat_o <Pat_o!> has joined #sailfishos-porters09:47
NotKitMeowDude, you need to find information why prebuilt kernel is used, maybe CyanogenMod build system wasn't able to compile booting kernel for some reason09:48
NotKitand then modify device tree to compile it09:49
*** Ingvix_ <Ingvix_!> has joined #sailfishos-porters09:50
malpiggz: why do those companies always have to use proprietary stuff for such trivial things09:52
piggzmal: agreed .....09:53
piggzmal: it seems to be related to the length of the message09:53
piggzthe proprietry one splits the message in chunks, with a start and end marker09:53
piggzto display more text i would think09:54
piggzmessages sent to the standard service display one line, and a message inidicating to look at the phone for the rest09:54
piggzthe proprietry one has atleast a page worth09:54
*** Ingvix_ <Ingvix_!> has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving)09:55
malpiggz: then there might be a reason for that09:57
malpiggz: wondering is the standard one really so limited09:57
piggzmal: it would seems so reading the spec!10:01
piggzThis characteristic consists of “Category ID”, “uint8”, and “UTF-8 string” fields. The size of this characteristic is dynamic because of the variable length text (“UTF-8”) field. The minimum length of “UTF-8 string” is 0 octets and maximum length of “UTF-8 string” is 18 octets.10:01
piggz18 chars!10:01
malwow, who thought that is enough10:02
piggzand that is def the UUID i was using :D10:02
Mister_Magistermal: i need friendly advice :P10:03
piggzmal: i guess the reason is that all BLW packets are 20bytes max10:03
piggzmal: so the proprietry one splits into 20b chunks10:03

piggzto work around it10:04

MeowDuder0kk3rz: its just that they didn't show up inside android14:38
MeowDudethis is fantastic!14:38
MeowDuder0kk3rs: is there any way to get it to mount data before it trys to open up sailfish os?14:39
MeowDudeor is there any way to start up sailfish os manually from here?14:39
Mister_Magisterso… i cant change passowrd on obs?14:39
r0kk3rzMeowDude: if you fix your mountpoints script it should mount it14:40
elrosbetter generate new image, you would have to edit initramfs and systemd files14:40
MeowDudeyeah but I want to play around in sfos if possible because new image will take at least 20 minute14:40
malSantozzz: I didn't even know the device had a sailfish port14:40
MeowDudeits an almost perfect port btw14:41
malis there some information about that somewhere?14:41
MeowDudeyou know it is good when they are just waiting for sfos 3 to come out to fix finger print and shit14:42
Santozzzfinger print   this is not secure14:43
malit would be nice if the porter of that would be here14:43
MeowDudemal: they are obviously VERY good if they never even had to show up here for help14:44
MeowDudethat or they stole it14:44
MeowDudewhich I doubt14:44
Santozzzmal: OK! I will tell him!14:44
malchannel logs show no signs of that port14:44
malI think the reason why that is so good already is that the device is probably very similar to mido14:45
kimmoliit says the usual way on readme, "by trial and error"14:45
MeowDudemal: someone needs to add this device to the table14:45
MeowDudethe great and only hybris table14:45

Santozzzmal: Piggz helped him as I know14:46
malSantozzz: anyway as the current developer of anbox for sailfish I haven't heard of anbox being used yet on that device, I will add some things needed for that device (3.18 kernel needs some changes to anbox)14:47
MeowDude3.18... 3.1... compatible with certain Jolla C packages14:47
MeowDude*quickly closes trench coat14:47
NotKitmal, overlayfs-related or for binder?14:48
malNotKit: overlayfs, there was some renaming of that14:48
malI will also try anbox on gemini at some point14:49
Santozzzmal: Awesom News! Thank you kind man!14:49
NotKitmal, by the way, I think workdir is not needed if it's mounted ro14:49
malNotKit: ok, we do mount system image as readonly14:49
malSantozzz: the device kernel will need some patching for anbox14:50
MeowDudeNotKit: does Droid 4 use 3.1 or 3.0 kernel???14:50
NotKit3.0.8 I think14:50
MeowDudeokay good14:50

NotKitmal, nah, disregard that, just checked on desktop, it still wants workdir, even though it's not going to be used in theory without write14:52
malNotKit: quite odd requirement, I thought documentation said it's not needed14:53

vknechtwhat's the right way to add a device in ? Copy/paste another entry in relevant section ? Or is there some template stuff to use ?15:05
MeowDudevknecht: thats what I did, you go to "edit" in you category, copy paste another devices data (use it as a template basically), and edit the values accordingly15:07
malvknecht: just copy from some other, make sure you use the new format, some devices still use the old one15:07
MeowDudeonce you're in there its pretty self-explanatory15:07
malthe new format is Hadktablerow in there15:07
vknechtok thanks15:07
malother way is to add a template like you see in the edit page15:08
piggzmal: is that a xiaomi device ... i think some guys asked me for help via telegram15:10
vknechtah, yeah, I see the Hadktablerow used, eg. for find5 ; so I guess I have to create a page similar to to feed the general table, right ?15:10

elrosyou said you had /dev/mmcblk0p* once15:29
MeowDudeI would just not use it accept for NFC since NFC has no mw15:29
