rinigusmal and @b100dian: on nagara, new nfcd starts before its android nfc binder service starts. difference is like 8 seconds during a boot18:07
rinigusas a result, new aidl based nfcd binder plugin fails to work18:08
rinigusif I restart nfcd systemd service, all is good18:08
T42<TheVancedGamer> yeah, I'm noticing this too with a lot of aidl services18:08
T42<TheVancedGamer> they start quite late compared to services in linux side18:08
rinigusin nagara case, I actually delayed aidl nfc  to make sure that it is initialized properly. as judged by logcat logs18:09
malrinigus: hmm, it doesn't retry?18:16
rinigusmal: let me try to boot then with verbose logs for nfcd (that -vvvv...  option)18:17
mal@TheVancedGamer do you have plans to upstream this or should I just take it and edit if needed https://gitlab.com/ubports/development/core/packaging/libhybris/-/blob/ubports/latest/debian/patches/0009-q-Add-com.android.i18n-apex-to-library-path.patch?ref_type=heads18:24
rinigusmal: here is the journal | grep -i nfc: https://dpaste.org/Pyhvu18:28
rinigusafter the boot, sfos nfc logger doesn't show anything. later, I restarted nfcd and immediately got readouts from the card I was showing to the phone before.18:29
riniguslog was cut on nfc messages in the end18:30
malsomehow it doesn't see the appearance of the android side service, not sure yet wy18:33
mal*why18:33
malI do see some bugs in my changes18:39
rinigusone option would be to start it not as a part of basic.target but later. but if it can be fixed in the code, sure - probably better way to do it18:42
malheh, dumb bugs18:47
malprobably18:47
Mister_Magistermal: any update?19:02
T42<TheVancedGamer> mal: i'll make an MR in a few days, just feeling like total trash rn :D19:03
malrinigus: could you test new version of that nfcd-binder-plugin, same branch19:04
rinigusmal: sure, just a sec19:04
malthere were some issues in the service detection side at least19:05
T42<b100dian> so: my "dual" sim nagara was nano + esim. After trying to add manifests for qcril2 etc and rebooting and adding dual sim in sailfishos and seeing that it doesn't work, after leaving the second "sim" "selected" and reverting all the (other) changes until not even the first sim was not working, getting the changes back in so that I can select the SIM1.. changing the APN settings.. I now have 5G instead of 3.5G19:08
Mister_Magisterehhh19:08
T42<b100dian> So it was just the APN settings, I took the looong route19:08
malrinigus: it seems still the same issue, just noticed it on my device19:11
rinigusmal: yes, still same issue.19:11
Mister_Magistermal: is there any reason why PR is not getting merged? Any hold up?19:12
rinigusmal: new log - https://dpaste.org/AMYib . this time avc filtered out too19:13
malMister_Magister: I haven't had time/motivation to test it19:13
maland I also need to recheck the code and any related parts19:13
rinigus@b100dian: great - so that works.19:13
Mister_Magister oh I've tested it on 3 devices for you19:13
Mister_Magisteror was it two19:14
Mister_Magisterit's been working fine19:14
malrinigus: try now19:39
T42<b100dian> mal: you have updated the nfc repo?20:08
T42<b100dian> ok, triggering a rebuild on the jbXXXXX branch20:10
malyes, I think it should work now, at least worked for me20:18
T42<b100dian> It works every time for me when started from terminal. I also changed testing to the top of the phone, was not aware the sensor is there.20:24
T42<b100dian> Works great even after reboot20:24
T42<b100dian> Maybe rinigus changed something about that, let me look20:24
T42<b100dian> nope ;)20:26
T42<b100dian> rinigus: I think usbd was disconnecting telnet. overrode that20:49
