17:18:53 <sledges> Welcome to the Mer-hybris Porters bug triage!
17:19:03 <sledges> #info We'll start with the bugs: https://bugs.nemomobile.org/buglist.cgi?bug_severity=critical&bug_severity=major&bug_severity=normal&bug_severity=trivial&bug_status=NEEDINFO&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=TRIAGEDUPSTREAM&bug_status=REOPENED&component=Hybris-ing&email1=need-triage&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&order=bug_id&product=Hardware%20adaptation&query_format=advanced
17:20:40 <sledges> #topic https://bugs.nemomobile.org/show_bug.cgi?id=830
17:20:40 <merbot> Nemo bug 830 in Hybris-ing "[hammerhead][alpha11][gallery] no video playing webm file / vp8" [Normal,New]
17:21:50 <situ> Normal Normal
17:22:14 <sledges> my comment to the last comment: Why would we close this bug if it's not fixed? ;P Anyone is able to pick it up and do it
17:23:08 <sledges> #topic https://bugs.nemomobile.org/show_bug.cgi?id=831
17:23:08 <merbot> Nemo bug 831 in Hybris-ing "[hammerhead][alpha][performance] overall performance of sfos browsers compared to cm and ubuntu phone" [Normal,New]
17:23:52 <sledges> this is invalid, as it's a software bug, should be discussed in TJC (and I think it already is)
17:24:32 <situ> sledges: But if performance is specifically slow on N5 then there must be system specific components involved.
17:25:11 <situ> ohh results are better on N5.
17:26:31 <situ> only one specific test result.
17:28:59 <sledges> N5 is faster due to overall newer hw
17:29:18 <situ> sledges: It may or may not be related to device adapation. Feel free to close and reopen later if required.
17:31:43 <situ> But slower in other test.
17:34:51 <sledges> which one?
17:35:20 <sledges> kraken is ms (lower better)
17:35:26 <sledges> octane is points (higher better)
17:36:49 <situ> sledges: ohh right, sorry.
17:43:12 <sledges> this bug is valid in HW adaptation area, if there are ways to optimise sf browser for particular hardware (and add fixes to HA packages)
17:43:58 <sledges> if other browsers run faster on same hw (sf-browser vs firefox android browser on jolla phone), means sf-browser needs optimisations in its sw base in general, because surely ff browser wasn't optimised specifically for jolla (it's android app, so doesn't know what platform its even running on)
17:45:07 <sledges> i vote to relay these test results to TJC, as that's the forum for SW bugs (indicated in XDA N5 rel.notes)
17:45:26 <sledges> and if we notice a performance hit of same sw on a certain device - then open a bug here
17:45:43 <situ> sledges: Roger that
17:46:02 <sledges> ok, i'll comment all that
18:02:54 <Osanwe> Hi all! On the Sailfish OS website is writed follow: "Developers are able to hook into frameworks via plug-ins and thus speed up development time. A single plug-in is normally much easier to develop than a full UI for service features." Where can I find the description of the API for plugins?
18:03:28 <Stskeeps> can you try in #sailfishos? :)
18:04:10 <Osanwe> Oh, yes, sorry :)
18:04:49 <Osanwe> But there is nobody on that channel
18:04:57 <Stskeeps> there is ..
18:05:04 <Stskeeps> plenty of people
18:05:10 <Stskeeps> #sailfishos without the ?
18:05:26 <Osanwe> yes
18:08:55 <Osanwe> Sorry, I've found a mistake
18:14:52 * sledges suggests CCing yourselves to https://bugs.nemomobile.org/show_bug.cgi?id=831
18:14:52 <merbot> Nemo bug 831 in Hybris-ing "[hammerhead][alpha][performance] overall performance of sfos browsers compared to cm and ubuntu phone" [Normal,Resolved: invalid]
18:14:55 <sledges> thanks all
18:15:00 <sledges> that's the end of bugs list
