============================================================================== #sailfishos-meeting: Sailfish OS, open source, collaboration -- 24th June 2021 ============================================================================== Meeting started by sledges at 07:00:03 UTC. The full logs are available at https://irclogs.sailfishos.org/meetings/sailfishos-meeting/2021/sailfishos-meeting.2021-06-24-07.00.log.html . Meeting summary --------------- * Meeting information and agenda can be found here: (sledges, 07:00:13) * LINK: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/community-meeting-on-irc-24th-june-2021/6707 (sledges, 07:00:18) * Brief introduction (5 min). Please prefix your name/handle with #info (sledges, 07:00:31) * Simonas Leleiva -- privateer for Jolla (sledges, 07:01:02) * fridlmue -- community (fridlmue, 07:01:13) * Kimmo Lindholm - community (kimmoli, 07:01:44) * Andrew Branson - sailor (abr, 07:01:50) * Chris Adams - privateer at Jolla (chriadam, 07:02:26) * David Llewellyn-Jones - sailor @ Jolla (flypig, 07:02:54) * recovery of broken Jolla1 (10 min -- asked by Dakon) (sledges, 07:05:57) * my J1 recently brokte (sledges, 07:06:10) * LINK: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/jolla1-does-not-start-anymore/6579 (sledges, 07:06:17) * Over USB the device shows up as modem after a while, recovery mode does not help. Jolla support said "ask community for help", but to my knowledge no public information is available on how to go on from this stage. (sledges, 07:06:24) * Given that the device is out of warranty and (commercially) useless, I would welcome if some more information on low level access to the device could be made available, e.g. how to access the low level bootloader, maybe dump the flash. Also things like "these are the wires you could connect $magic_device to read the low level flash" or something like that would be appreciated. (sledges, 07:06:35) * Target audience: experienced developers, i.e. people that know how to operate a terminal, dd and the like and how to operate a TTL serial converter (sledges, 07:06:46) * Jolla Phone support has been discontinued: (sledges, 07:07:36) * LINK: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402770092434 (sledges, 07:07:38) * announced earlier in our blog (sledges, 07:07:44) * LINK: https://blog.jolla.com/jolla7 (sledges, 07:07:46) * The recovery mode is provided to sort out such boot issues, sorry to hear that is also broken. (sledges, 07:15:26) * Unfortunately we don't have additional details to share. We are looking into the this, but don't have any schedule to announce on this. (sledges, 07:15:37) * LINK: https://lego.github.io/lego-ble-wireless-protocol-docs/ (jsehv, 07:44:29) * Dual-booting with Android, Xperia 10 dual SIM in particular (30 min -- asked by ddobrev) (sledges, 07:49:09) * Getting Bluetooth support in Android would be possible with dual booting. Let's discuss the options, if any, for new Xperia devices such as 10 and forward. (sledges, 07:49:17) * Dual boot is an interesting option, but unfortunately not trivial to implement due to how Sailfish OS overwrites the userdata partition.
