Meeting summary --------------- * Meeting information and agenda can be found here: (rainemak, 08:00:46) * LINK: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/community-meeting-on-irc-23rd-november-2023/17342 (rainemak, 08:00:46) * Brief introduction (5 min). Please prefix your name/handle with #info (rainemak, 08:00:46) * Raine Mäkeläinen, sailor @ Jolla, chairperson today (rainemak, 08:00:46) * Otto Mäkelä, community (ExTechOp, 08:00:56) * pherjung, community (pherjung[m], 08:01:03) * David Llewellyn-Jones, community (flypig, 08:02:12) * poetaster, community (poetaster, 08:04:55) * WebView + PullDownMenu (10mins -- asked by pherjung) (rainemak, 08:05:24) * To improve harbour-hydrogen these days, we tried to include (rainemak, 08:05:40) * a pulley menu 1 to access settings and other pages. Unfortunately, (rainemak, 08:05:40) * we found that this feature breaks scrolling. As soon as you scroll (rainemak, 08:05:40) * up, you have to scroll down to scroll within the WebView. On the (rainemak, 08:05:40) * other hand, you’ll be able to trigger the pulley menu. (rainemak, 08:05:40) * (rainemak, 08:05:41) * We found out that there is a pulley menu on the Jolla email and this (rainemak, 08:05:43) * bug is not there. I’ve tried to understand the differences between (rainemak, 08:05:45) * harbour-hydrogen and Jolla email, but haven’t found the solution. (rainemak, 08:05:47) * What was done in Jolla Email to make scrolling within a WebView with (rainemak, 08:05:49) * a pulley menu work? (rainemak, 08:05:51) * LINK: https://github.com/hydrogen-sailfishos/sfos-hydrogen/commit/1578413d114597abf983711dc007c99e30d3f3cc (rainemak, 08:05:53) * LINK: https://openrepos.net/content/markkyboy/patch-returns-pulley-menu-email-view (rainemak, 08:05:56) * LINK: https://github.com/hydrogen-sailfishos/sfos-hydrogen/tree/hackathon (rainemak, 08:05:58) * Thank you for this question. This is very interesting one. (rainemak, 08:06:05) * When we removed pulley menus (plural) from the Jolla email we had (rainemak, 08:06:06) * a challenge on combining Flickable and Gecko based WebView. Reason (rainemak, 08:06:06) * for the Flickable is that PulleyMenu requires Flickable to work. (rainemak, 08:06:08) * (rainemak, 08:06:10) * The challenge comes from the fact that there are two viewports (rainemak, 08:06:15) * that should be moving within the same coordinate system simultaneously. (rainemak, 08:06:15) * Bottom viewport is the WebView one and on top of it we have Flickable. (rainemak, 08:06:16) * They should have contentLength that equal to the content length of the (rainemak, 08:06:18) * web content. For both, viewport size is roughly the screen resolution (rainemak, 08:06:20) * (minus header and footer) whereas content length usually is much more. (rainemak, 08:06:22) * (rainemak, 08:06:24) * This caused html content drifting whilst opening the PullDownMenu as (rainemak, 08:06:26) * events are/were also delivered to the web content i.e. causing parallax effect. (rainemak, 08:06:28) * We’re pretty sure that problem has not yet disappeared. (rainemak, 08:06:32) * (rainemak, 08:06:34) * The patch that you’re referring does not fix contentHeight rather having (rainemak, 08:06:44) * contentHeight fixed to screen height – like it used to. Thus, it is not (rainemak, 08:06:44) * hiding pulley indicator properly and doesn’t work if you’d have both (rainemak, 08:06:44) * PullDownMenu and PushUpMenu declared. It is a coincident that the patch works (rainemak, 08:06:44) * at the first place. (rainemak, 08:18:52) * Sailfish OS will be represented on the “Linux on Mobile” stand. However, as (rainemak, 08:18:53) * I won’t be able to present on the stand the whole time, if anyone else is (rainemak, 08:18:53) * planning to attend and would like to help for a bit, please get in touch. (rainemak, 08:18:53) * Last year it was a blast on the stand! (rainemak, 08:18:53) * FOSDEM’24: FOSDEM 2024 - Home (rainemak, 08:18:53) * Stands: FOSDEM 2024 - Accepted stands for FOSDEM 2024 (rainemak, 08:18:55) * LINK: https://fosdem.org/2024/ (rainemak, 08:18:57) * LINK: https://fosdem.org/2024/news/2023-11-20-accepted-stands-fosdem-2024/ (rainemak, 08:18:59) * As you flypig noted, a very late meeting topic submission. Added to the agenda regardless. (rainemak, 08:19:11) * I'll ask around to understand who's going. (rainemak, 08:19:11) * Open PR discussion (10 mins -- asked by jolla) (rainemak, 08:24:50) * Any open PRs to discuss? (rainemak, 08:29:53) * As a result of their work, we now have: (rainemak, 08:29:53) * 4 high quality bug reports now recorded internally and tagged as "tracked" (rainemak, 08:29:55) * 2 bug reports flagged with needinfo (rainemak, 08:29:56) * 1 bug report under investigation (rainemak, 08:29:58) * 5 bugs were closed. (rainemak, 08:30:02) * General discussion (5 min) (rainemak, 08:35:28) * Two issues on Sony xperia 10 III that really need resolving: missing echo cancellation and camera support. Is there any work being done on these? (rainemak, 08:44:07) * LINK: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/camera2-api-development/14491/ (rainemak, 08:44:16) * As far as I understand, echo cancellation issue is on the Sony blobs (rainemak, 08:44:53) * Next meeting time and date (5 min) (rainemak, 08:55:59) * Next meeting will be held on Thursday 7th December 2023 at 07:00am UTC: 2023-12-07T0700Z (rainemak, 08:58:17) Meeting ended at 08:58:48 UTC.
