tiwake | I'm going to fill this out while I have the VPN going... just in case | 00:57 |
tiwake | alright, request sent | 01:20 |
caitlin | used the xa2 with lineout in the car this morning and it was fabulous, but blue tooth is totally gubbed. I'll try and get some diagnostics out of that at some point | 12:46 |
caitlin | it's weird because the car says it does a2dp/avrcp and so does the phone | 12:47 |
mal | bluetooth is always a problem, it's amazing how differently the same profile can be done so that client software needs plenty of hacks | 12:53 |
r0kk3rz | bt is a glorious mess of legacy standards and perpetual growth | 13:00 |
tiwake | caitlin: heh, bluetooth worked for me but the audio jack did not | 13:02 |
tiwake | for my XA2 | 13:02 |
mal | tiwake: so the fix from yesterday should fix audio jack as it did for caitlin | 13:03 |
tiwake | mal: what is "the fix"? | 13:04 |
mal | tiwake: installing some rpm packages and adding a configuration file | 13:06 |
mal | tiwake: the packages are a test build of the fix | 13:06 |
tiwake | oh yeah... I'll just wait | 13:08 |
cb400f_ | hm, someone reported the audio jack not working on his xperia x after updating to sfos3, still works fine for me though | 13:10 |
mal | cb400f_: the issue discussed here is for headsets or devices recognized as lineout devices when connected to a phone, some car stereos and such can be like that | 13:14 |
cb400f_ | ah | 13:15 |
mal | cb400f_: it's easy to see if that is the case, just installing one package and running a command to see how the connection is recognized | 13:17 |

henk | I received an mms, tapped it to 'download', then my phone was 'downloading' for minutes. I cancelled and tried again, closed messages, reopened it, tried again, no progress visible. I disabled wifi and let it use mobile data: tadaa. Is it possible (some) cell operators only allow downloading such messages via the mobile data connection? Is there a setting so the phone uses only the mobile data | 18:40 |
henk | connection for such things? | 18:40 |
ender| | my provider often has trouble downloading MMSes - sometimes it works over cellular only, other times it only works over wifi (and this happens regardless of the phone OS) | 18:47 |
henk | ouch … I haven’t used wifi with jolla for the last three years or so and it usually worked fine over cellular, only once or twice not. | 18:52 |
