If I know that this is somehow possible I can try for myself for some more time ;-) If you have yours ready (or almost ready), I'd probably stop trying myself ;-) If you'd share even without bluetooth (rest is working?), maybe I could already get a glance of what I will get... Mister_Magisterabranson: ah that fix is only for my cpu but maybe you will be able to do that on your own. basically just leave one cpu always on. but what i mean is that for example leave cpu0 always on13:13
Mister_Magisterthen when irq will move to cpu 0 they probably will not move away13:14
Mister_Magisterhttps://github.com/PDesire/YandereSatsukiKernel/commit/e529406686bbf1d36aeb046f801da3ba27da557613:14
Mister_Magisterthat's theory13:14
abransonhmm on second thoughts, can't see any of that switching going on now13:16
nh1402Mister_Magister: soooo... what's the topic13:16
abransonmaybe it got better since we switched13:16
abransonwe're using cpuquiet though, not core_ctl13:16
abransonso the handling is different13:16
abransonwe should have four cores always online afaik13:16
Mister_Magisterabranson: if yoo have 3 littles always enabled maybe they are there?13:17
abransonah sorry, they're in logcat not journal13:17
abransonwe have lots of this: MSM-irqbalance: Decided to move IRQ155 from CPU0 to CPU313:17
Mister_Magisterabranson: i have them in dmesg13:17
Mister_Magisterabranson: yeah we need to stop them from moving just keep them on one cpu13:17
abransoni'm not sure it's a problem though. we don't really have much lag on the sony.13:18
Mister_Magisterabranson: when i play 2048 game which uses qt only game sometime lags (animations go 5fps) because cpu is moving irqs13:19
Mister_Magisterthat's good app for testing performance maybe you will se it there13:19
Mister_Magisterand it can cause higher battery usage too13:20
abransonthat might be the BGRA problem instead, which is solved in the next release13:20
abransoni'll test it13:20
abransonthat's the cause of the fingerterm lag too13:20
Mister_Magisterabranson: but when i switched to 2core there was no lag13:20
Mister_Magisterbecause irq stopped moving13:20
abransonon your device?13:21
abransoncould be that core_ctl works differently13:21
Mister_Magisteryes13:21
Mister_Magistersure it is but we share that irq problem. it's only suggestion though do what you want i only want to help13:21
Mister_Magisternh1402: yeah just i'm thinking on the content13:22
Mister_Magisterwhoa i have another bottleneck now lol13:22
Mister_Magisterabranson: this is how my dmesg looks like https://pastebin.com/vWqp6jei13:23
Mister_Magisterflooded with it13:23
abranson2048 has no lag on the sony. it needs some love for the large display though :)13:23
Mister_Magisterbut try it with min 1 cpu13:24
Mister_Magistermin 1 max 613:24
Mister_Magisterbecause if you have 4 always enabled then irqs are there and not moving13:24
abransonlogcat says they are, but it doesn't get reported in dmesg at all13:25

Mister_Magistertry minimum 1 core i'm interested :)13:25
Mister_Magisternh1402: after 2.1.1 update there are upcomming events in the notifications area. It doesn't show when the event will be just shows day of the week and sometimes you have them doubled or you see events from next week which is annoying. If you could add option to choose when the notifications would be show like how many days in the future or display date and do something to tell difference between calendars13:28
abransonMister_Magister: can't tell much difference with min 0 sorry13:28
Mister_Magisterabranson: ah okay maybe it's only my problem thanks13:29
Mister_Magistermin 0 is dangerous13:29
Mister_Magistermin 1 always13:29
abransonyeah think so. thanks for the suggestion anyway13:29
abransonsorry, meant min 113:29
Mister_Magisternp13:29

Mister_Magisteryour cpu managing is probably different from mine a lot13:30
abransonyeah I think it's a completely different module13:30
Mister_Magisterabranson: i wouldn't be suprised if you had hmp13:32
Mister_Magisterabranson: what are you using for cpu managing?13:32
abransoncpuquiet13:33
Mister_Magisterhmmm for hmp there is cpuset13:33
abransoncpuset is there, but it's not working properly13:33
Mister_Magisterwhat do you mean?13:33
Mister_Magisterby not working (as i though xperia have hmp)13:34
abransondepends on the kernel13:34
Mister_Magisterah sorry xperia doesn't have hmp13:34
Mister_Magisterbecause i looking at first sony xperia kernel with hmp13:35
Mister_Magisterlol13:35
abransoncpuset isn't mounted properly, so it ends up with incorrect node names13:35
Mister_Magisterabranson: ah if you would be interested in hmp https://github.com/PDesire/YandereSatsukiKernel13:35
Mister_Magistergotta cherrypick it someday13:35
abransonand when we fix the node names, then we get failures writing to them13:35
abransonnot sure why13:35
Mister_Magisterby now i'll just use that one cpu always on feature13:35
Mister_Magisterabranson: maybe it needs additional things that you can find in that repo?13:36
abransonit works in sony's aosp with the same kernel as we're using13:36
abransonso we're not sure what's wrong13:36
Mister_Magisterit's first time when i'm so much into kernel development13:36

Mister_Magisterthe best thing is that my g2 is more dangerous than nexus 713:47
abransona detector app on the phone?13:47
abransonbecause that might just be checking security patch versions for android etc13:48
abransonso it might not really be probing the exploit to see if it's fixed13:48
nh1402Mister_Magister: that seems to be more appropriate to the caldav meeting, I think13:48

naytsyrhcwhat happens...20:04
naytsyrhcJust a short question. The xperia x images are 64 bit but still armv7hl. Do packages built for armv7hl 32 bit still work? Or do those have to be recompiled as for i486?20:07
r0kk3rznaytsyrhc: userspace is still 32bit, packages should work20:08
tbrAFAIU it's multiple userspaces20:08
r0kk3rzlike for eg. piggz had to hunt down 32bit androidy blobs :)20:10
naytsyrhcAh ok. So it's some problem on my site, that packages from openrepos won't install complaining about wrong architecture.20:10
r0kk3rzyeah thats a common issue, but i dont know the fix20:11
naytsyrhcuname tells aarch64 but i don't know what a jolla phone answered to uname20:13
r0kk3rzwont that be the kernel? which is definitely aarch6420:16

naytsyrhcthat's true, but what architecture  does pkcon check? I only know of that on linux. when using setarch linux32 before uname, architecture is reported as armv8l20:19

stephgnaytsyrhc: you there?20:35
naytsyrhcyes20:35
stephgnaytsyrhc: pkcon install-local is broken20:35
stephgdownload the rpm and install either with rpm -ivh <somefile> or zypper in <somefile> (if that is how the zypper syntax works)20:36
stephgto answer your other questions: ambiences are broken currently, there is apparently a fix coming for that (can't create new ones)20:37
naytsyrhcstephg: ok, thx. rpm worked. ambience is not that important (if it's a known issue, ok - allthough I didn't create a new one, I just can't change to all)20:41
stephgnaytsyrhc: re: ambiences creating new one fails altogether, and of the pre-created ones, some work, some don't it's a dbus problem irrc20:42
stephgnaytsyrhc: as to owncloud; no idea, but can't see any reason why that would be a port problem20:43
naytsyrhcUnderstood. Your image and sfos on xperia x compact really rocks.20:43
naytsyrhcDespite those glitches ;-)20:44
stephgnaytsyrhc: there is more work to do;) I hope you're happy bricking your device when we try our first zypper dup :P20:44

retro486Heya! This is more of a generic question but how do you go abouts troubleshooting a boot image that seems to just hang? No errors in compilation, no errors from the kernel config scan, hybris-boot.img is under 10MB... Doesn't show up in adb... Not sure how to figure out what the problem is... This is on a Nexus 4 following the new 9/17 HADK using Lineage 14.123:34
