Mister_Magister | abranson: hi did you have "IRQ32 no longer affine to CPU0" or something like that in dmesg on xperia x? | 13:09 |
abranson | yeah lots | 13:09 |
nh1402 | Mister_Magister: sure | 13:10 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: that's what causes lag | 13:10 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: you set it to 2 cores no less no more right? | 13:10 |
abranson | 4-6 currently | 13:10 |
Mister_Magister | so it may cause irq switching again | 13:10 |
abranson | 2 is the default at boot | 13:11 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: we have to stop it from switching irqs. now i have set my cpu to dual little cores and whole phone is working nice without lagging so irq switching is the problem | 13:11 |

Mister_Magister | abranson: ah that fix is only for my cpu but maybe you will be able to do that on your own. basically just leave one cpu always on. but what i mean is that for example leave cpu0 always on | 13:13 |
Mister_Magister | then when irq will move to cpu 0 they probably will not move away | 13:14 |
Mister_Magister | https://github.com/PDesire/YandereSatsukiKernel/commit/e529406686bbf1d36aeb046f801da3ba27da5576 | 13:14 |
Mister_Magister | that's theory | 13:14 |
abranson | hmm on second thoughts, can't see any of that switching going on now | 13:16 |
nh1402 | Mister_Magister: soooo... what's the topic | 13:16 |
abranson | maybe it got better since we switched | 13:16 |
abranson | we're using cpuquiet though, not core_ctl | 13:16 |
abranson | so the handling is different | 13:16 |
abranson | we should have four cores always online afaik | 13:16 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: if yoo have 3 littles always enabled maybe they are there? | 13:17 |
abranson | ah sorry, they're in logcat not journal | 13:17 |
abranson | we have lots of this: MSM-irqbalance: Decided to move IRQ155 from CPU0 to CPU3 | 13:17 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: i have them in dmesg | 13:17 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: yeah we need to stop them from moving just keep them on one cpu | 13:17 |
abranson | i'm not sure it's a problem though. we don't really have much lag on the sony. | 13:18 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: when i play 2048 game which uses qt only game sometime lags (animations go 5fps) because cpu is moving irqs | 13:19 |
Mister_Magister | that's good app for testing performance maybe you will se it there | 13:19 |
Mister_Magister | and it can cause higher battery usage too | 13:20 |
abranson | that might be the BGRA problem instead, which is solved in the next release | 13:20 |
abranson | i'll test it | 13:20 |
abranson | that's the cause of the fingerterm lag too | 13:20 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: but when i switched to 2core there was no lag | 13:20 |
Mister_Magister | because irq stopped moving | 13:20 |
abranson | on your device? | 13:21 |
abranson | could be that core_ctl works differently | 13:21 |
Mister_Magister | yes | 13:21 |
Mister_Magister | sure it is but we share that irq problem. it's only suggestion though do what you want i only want to help | 13:21 |
Mister_Magister | nh1402: yeah just i'm thinking on the content | 13:22 |
Mister_Magister | whoa i have another bottleneck now lol | 13:22 |
Mister_Magister | abranson: this is how my dmesg looks like https://pastebin.com/vWqp6jei | 13:23 |

abranson | 2048 has no lag on the sony. it needs some love for the large display though :) | 13:23 |
Mister_Magister | but try it with min 1 cpu | 13:24 |
Mister_Magister | min 1 max 6 | 13:24 |
Mister_Magister | because if you have 4 always enabled then irqs are there and not moving | 13:24 |
abranson | logcat says they are, but it doesn't get reported in dmesg at all | 13:25 |

Mister_Magister | nh1402: after 2.1.1 update there are upcomming events in the notifications area. It doesn't show when the event will be just shows day of the week and sometimes you have them doubled or you see events from next week which is annoying. If you could add option to choose when the notifications would be show like how many days in the future or display date and do something to tell difference between calendars | 13:28 |
abranson | Mister_Magister: can't tell much difference with min 0 sorry | 13:28 |

abranson | cpuset is there, but it's not working properly | 13:33 |
Mister_Magister | what do you mean? | 13:33 |
Mister_Magister | by not working (as i though xperia have hmp) | 13:34 |
abranson | depends on the kernel | 13:34 |

Mister_Magister | because i looking at first sony xperia kernel with hmp | 13:35 |
Mister_Magister | lol | 13:35 |

Mister_Magister | gotta cherrypick it someday | 13:35 |

Mister_Magister | the best thing is that my g2 is more dangerous than nexus 7 | 13:47 |
abranson | a detector app on the phone? | 13:47 |

naytsyrhc | what happens... | 20:04 |
naytsyrhc | Just a short question. The xperia x images are 64 bit but still armv7hl. Do packages built for armv7hl 32 bit still work? Or do those have to be recompiled as for i486? | 20:07 |
r0kk3rz | naytsyrhc: userspace is still 32bit, packages should work | 20:08 |
tbr | AFAIU it's multiple userspaces | 20:08 |
r0kk3rz | like for eg. piggz had to hunt down 32bit androidy blobs :) | 20:10 |
naytsyrhc | Ah ok. So it's some problem on my site, that packages from openrepos won't install complaining about wrong architecture. | 20:10 |
r0kk3rz | yeah thats a common issue, but i dont know the fix | 20:11 |
naytsyrhc | uname tells aarch64 but i don't know what a jolla phone answered to uname | 20:13 |
r0kk3rz | wont that be the kernel? which is definitely aarch64 | 20:16 |

No errors in compilation, no errors from the kernel config scan, hybris-boot.img is under 10MB... Doesn't show up in adb... Not sure how to figure out what the problem is... This is on a Nexus 4 following the new 9/17 HADK using Lineage 14.1 | 23:34 |
