r0kk3rzyeah but anbox isnt really usable00:40
r0kk3rzso unless you want to spend time developing anbox on sailfish00:41
T4<DSstill01> Ive tried with aliendalvik as well, but to continue i need 6.0 base00:47
T4<DSstill01> I just have no time, im a busy dud00:48
r0kk3rzi wouldnt bother with the old alien dalvik either, its a bit too old these days00:49
r0kk3rzyou're using an 8.1 base?00:49
T4<DSstill01> 7.100:49
T4<DSstill01> In addition, no one is interested in ad 8.1 uploading00:50
T4<DSstill01> [Edit] In addition, no one is interested in ad 8.0 uploading00:50
T4<DSstill01> I couldnt even find it in 4pda, and if russians didnt upload it, no one uploaded it00:51
r0kk3rzno, you'd have to do something crazy like talk to people00:52
T4<DSstill01> Pinging everyone in this group, and ctrl-c ctrl-v "hey can you give me aliendalvik 8.0 rpm?"00:53
T4<DSstill01> [Edit] Pinging everyone in this group, and ctrl-c ctrl-v "hey can you give me aliendalvik 8.0 rpm?"?00:53
r0kk3rzffs stop editing00:53
r0kk3rzjust stop it00:53
T4<DSstill01> What?00:53
r0kk3rzyou edit your posts00:53
r0kk3rzdont00:53
T4<DSstill01> Yes00:54
T4<DSstill01> I have telegram00:54
r0kk3rzstop it00:54
T4<DSstill01> Why00:54
T4<DSstill01> It's a feature that irc should have but it doesnt00:55
r0kk3rzbecause i dont need to see your post multiple times because you fat fingered one character00:55
T4<DSstill01> lol00:55
T4<DSstill01> So i can create a sentence by editing a word multiple times?00:56
r0kk3rzhttp://www.merproject.org/logs/%23sailfishos-porters/latest.log.html#t2019-04-23T00:53:1300:57
r0kk3rzis what it looks like here00:57
T4<DSstill01> Cool00:58
T4<DSstill01> I know that some irc spambots write messages to everyone in a channel. I can do a massive ad 8.0 request in that way lol00:59
r0kk3rzlol, yes thats how you get people to do you a favour01:00
T4<DSstill01> Nnnah, im a genious ill do it. If someone gives me the rpm im done, and there must be 1 on 1xx01:01
T4<DSstill01> Having 8.1 base would be even better for me because im working on lineage 16, so, i can get almost every 16.0 commit and work in line with that01:04
*** kimmoli_ is now known as kimmoli04:13
ghosalmartinmorning all :)08:08
ghosalmartinmal: not sure if someones mentioned, but a nice person emailed me about an issue i had a while back with disabling selinux, and it seems the flag CONFIG_PFK has to be disabled for selinux to be disabled08:10
r0kk3rzghosalmartin: yes osum4est__ here is attempting to port for marlin08:23
r0kk3rzhow far did you get?08:24
ghosalmartinone step behind him, never managed to disable selinux or enable CONFIG_VT08:24
ghosalmartinguhl went a bit further with the CONFIG_VT debugging but yah08:24
r0kk3rzah08:24
r0kk3rzit did look like you didnt get very far08:24
ghosalmartini was focusing more on the mi mix 2 at the time08:25
ghosalmartindid anyone ever find a fix or replicate the CONFIG_VT issue?08:25
r0kk3rznobody else ever had it08:25
ghosalmartinthats gotta be bad luck on my part :P both devices had the same issue08:26
r0kk3rzwhatever it is, it really breaks things08:26
ghosalmartinhmm i wanna get the mi mix 3 to port but i dont want it to just be another device with the same blockage08:26
r0kk3rzlol slidy phone08:29
T4<elros34> According to postmarketos wiki it should be possible to debug marlin via serial console. It think that is the only sane way.08:31
r0kk3rzcertainly we werent having any luck with the ramoops log08:33
ghosalmartinbig fan of the slidy phone :P08:42
r0kk3rzi had a slidy phone once, it had a keypad underneath08:44
ghosalmartinthey were much simpler times08:48
ghosalmartinanyone tried the new xa2 beta port? Whats android support like?08:49
r0kk3rza work in progress last i heard08:51
ghosalmartini bought a license when it came out but never actually got the device :P08:52
r0kk3rzhow many phones do you have?08:53
ghosalmartinerm...ive lost count08:53
ghosalmartinand now ive started to work as a contractor i have even more excuse to buy moarrr phones for testing :P08:53
ghosalmartinalthough reading the latest mer meeting it seems they are using linux containers for sandboxing so maybe itll be more akin to anbox08:53
r0kk3rzyeah more or less08:55
ghosalmartinThe question is, is the code now all Jollas, or does Myraid still own some of it08:57
r0kk3rzno idea08:57
T4<DSstill01> Yesterday i used a bot to request aliendalvik 8.0 via pm to all the users in #sailfishos but no one answered me :/09:27
r0kk3rzshame09:28
T4<DSstill01> Except one guy that asked me if i was sending that message to everyone lol09:28
r0kk3rzyou idiot09:35
T4<DSstill01> I think thats because of connection timeout, since the bot restarts in case of that, so, he sent the message twice and i lost all the credibility due to that :(09:35
T4<DSstill01> @r0kk3rz [you idiot], No u09:35
T4<DSstill01> That was the best way to get aliendalvik i consider myself a genius, not an idiot09:38
T4<DSstill01> [Edit] That was the best way to get aliendalvik. i consider myself a genius, not an idiot09:38
r0kk3rzand yet, it failed09:38
T4<DSstill01> It failed because no one wanted to give me that09:38
r0kk3rzi wonder why...09:39
T4<DSstill01> But the massive request with the bot is an incredible idea09:39
r0kk3rzumm09:39
r0kk3rzsure guy09:39
T4<DSstill01> @r0kk3rz [i wonder why...], They cant know that i was posting that to everyone09:39
T4<DSstill01> The message was even well written09:40
T4<DSstill01> "Hello my friend I need your help. Currently steevie doesnt have any xa2 device, so, he doesnt even have aliendalvik 8. Therefore, if you have a xa2 with aliendalvik 8, please share the rpm to me. you will not lose anything but will make me (and maybe other people in the future) happy. thank you :)" … Pure poetry09:41
T4<DSstill01> Did you receive it btw?09:42
T4<eugenio_g7> Next time try to personalize every message, maybe replacing "my friend" with the nickname, lolol09:53
r0kk3rz'my friend' LOL09:53
r0kk3rzthat is a weirdly phrased message :)09:54
T4<DSstill01> @eugenio_g7 [Next time try to personalize every message, ma …], My friend is the best way to ask something because people tend to believe to talk with a friends, and friends do favours to each others, you you know ;)09:56

T4<eugenio_g7> Sorry didn't think that far... It's absurd that it didn't work!09:57
r0kk3rzyeah, oh well, it didnt work and now you can give up09:57
T4<DSstill01> Now a professional guy pinged me, but no one, and i repeat NO ONE of the 200-300 people in that group was interested09:58
T4<eugenio_g7> It was a perfect plan09:59
T4<DSstill01> Yes, i just think that people dont like to share their personal stuff09:59
T4<eugenio_g7> As it's also illegal10:00
T4<DSstill01> No it's not10:01
r0kk3rzooooorrrrr, people in an irc are particularly adept at recognising spam when they see it10:01
T4<DSstill01> That's not spam, thats a massive request10:02
T4<DSstill01> To obtain what i request quickly10:02
T4<eugenio_g7> Nigerian princes do that too10:03

T4<eugenio_g7> Did you remove it?10:13
T4<DSstill01> No i told him kill yourself or something similar10:14
T4<eugenio_g7> So that's why no one shared the aliendalvik rpms to you! Perhaps next time try with "Dear stranger" or "Dear Sir"10:15
T4<DSstill01> My friend is better10:15
masha11Hello. I'm trying to reinstall the package libhybris to run droid-hal-init using the following commands: https://pastebin.com/WG4QxNah. And I get an error: nothing provides libgralloc.so. https://pastebin.com/mXuUrDNk.11:51
malmasha11: why do you try that? btw, if you mean you are trying to downgrade libhybris it might be that it's not really needed, if you want to test please remove the qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin sources from hybris/mw/ and then rebuilt that package12:01
malit's possible that qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin was not correctly rebuilt and that could in theory cause UI to fail12:01
masha11mal: I'm trying to downgrade libhybris because I have a problem: droid-hal-init: Failed to initialize property area12:04
malnot sure if that can be the reason but if you want to try then remove libhybris sources and reclone those (with --recurse-submodules), and the reset to correct revision (and make sure the submodule is changed to correct revision also)12:06
malthen rebuild it12:06
malthere are probably some remnants from earlier build in libhybris source tree and that is causing the error12:07
masha11mal: yes, I try. I understand the order of running commands? https://pastebin.com/WG4QxNah12:08
malyes, just make after git reset that the submodule really was downgraded also12:25
masha11mal, ok, thanks12:26
r0kk3rzmasha11: check your vendor partition mount12:39
T4<elros34> you need also git submodule update12:40
masha11@r0kk3rz where to check?12:40
r0kk3rzon the device12:41
masha11@erlos34 does it do before "git reset"?12:41
malof course after get reset, to make sure the submodule was really synced to correct revision12:48
masha11mal: ok, sorry12:49
masha11mal: git submodule update Submodule path 'libhybris': checked out '07b547e90db625685050bdfd00c92ccafc64aa09'. So could not downgrade to '20bcd5be11fcd82aa9e2e995c4bb37af9c94cbad'?12:56
malso go to submodule git and git reset it to correct revision you want12:57
masha11mal: sorry, and what is a submodule git?13:03
T4<elros34> submodule have diffrent revision. You only need to do: git checkout 0.0.5.25; git submodule update and the build13:03
masha11@elros34: ok, thanks13:06

masha11 libhwc2 missing in libhybris.spec.13:35
malare you really sure you correctly downgraded it?13:37
masha11mal: what i did looks like: https://pastebin.com/FYCwtp0S13:40
malgit checkout and git reset do the same thing (well almost)13:41
maldid you check that the submodule is correct after that?13:41
masha11My libhybris.spec now: https://pastebin.com/TiCrSJK1. How to check? I just ran "git submodule update"  that didn't return anything to me.13:43
malSUBMODULE!!!!!!!13:43
malgo to the damn submodule folder and check the git log manually13:43
piggzmal: @eugenio_g7 ... i copied the intel pstore driver from 3.14 to 5.1, and it worked ... got this ramoops https://paste.gnome.org/pggsfwwsy13:46

malstv: run sb2 -t $VENDOR-$DEVICE-armv7hl -m sdk-install -R zypper in bluez5-libs-devel and you should get the same question you had in first paste and then answer first option to uninstall bluez4 packages13:57

T4<Hound77> @elros34 I not able to take kernel logs because I cant connect via telnet. Seem like I have to madify kernel defconfig. Can you correct me on this ?15:16

T4<Hound77> yes15:17
T4<Hound77> Im also using 15.1 as base but not able to telnet.15:18
T4<elros34> Charlie: you still didn't provide basic information: how many seconds it takes to reboot when you flash hybris-recovery, sudo lsusb .. and dmesg when you power up device and before it reboots and hang at bootloader15:18
stvhttps://bpaste.net/show/42205b7eb16515:18
stvit's minimal, there are only mer-check-config changes15:18
stvit's to test aliendalvik, so, i dont care about wifi, ril, gps or others15:21
T4<Hound77> @elros34 lsusb didnt yield any required result. Like the address for telnet and dmesg showed the details of my device as motorola. I tried them several time during boot before it boots back to bootloader.15:22
T4<Hound77> It stays on boot logo for about 10s before it comes back to bootloader.15:48
T4<Hound77> <stv> Can you make out what wrong in my deconfig ?  … https://0x0.st/zbis.txt … Since you are using 15.1 you may have some ideas.15:51
T4<elros34> I assume you fixed your earlier issue which cause booting straight to bootloader? You can try to flash android kernel and then boot (fastboot boot command) hybris-recovery. If it reboots to android you maybe you will get some usefull logs in console-ramoops16:04
T4<elros34> also CONFIG_AUDIT should be y, read description in mer-kernel-checker16:06
T4<linusdan> @Hound77 Try this: … https://gitlab.com/linusdan/kernel_samsung_smdk4412/commit/7a229ea5df4310d2b2eab6aed34985545212945517:03

T4<eugenio_g7> \o/ got UI on loire on AOSP 8.1 base17:59
malpiggz: good point, that doesn't currently take into account aspect ratio18:04
piggzmal: i wonder if jolla-camera takes that into account18:05
malpiggz: it does18:13
T4<Hound77> @linusdan Do you have it for 15.1 ?18:15
T4<linusdan> Are the same things, just search at your defconfig :)18:17
T4<elros34> Charlie: check if you have skip_initramfs in boot arguments ( cat /proc/cmdline in android NOT twrp)18:19
T4<Hound77> @elros34 Shouldnt I be placing the value "n" for CONFIG_AUDIT instead of "y". That would disable selinux. Instead of enabling and disabling them in the kernel and kernel cmdline.18:20
T4<Hound77> It is suggested to set the value "n".18:21
T4<elros34> recomended way is disable selinux in bootparam but first check this skip_initramfs thing18:23
*** ChanServ sets mode: +v T418:37
T4<Hound77> @elros34 There is no such file.18:38
T4<elros34> really? then in dmesg should be info about kernel boot arguments18:39
T4<Hound77> I am doing adb on twrp. But what do you mean "NOT twrp" ?18:40
T4<elros34> I said in android not twrp...18:41
T4<elros34> not in recovery18:41
T4<Hound77> Should I go back to Lineage and try ?18:42
T4<elros34> yes, you only need to flash lineage kernel18:47
T4<linusdan> @Hound77 Yes, you must include an extra line … CONFIG_SECURITY_SELINUX_BOOTPARAM_VALUE = 0 … This parameter does not stay in the kernel by default18:49
mal@linusdan why? that's what we set in kernel commandline18:51
T4<linusdan> kernel 3.0.101 does not have this in defconfig18:53
malI don't understand what you issue is18:56
T4<Hound77> @linusdan What about CONFIG_SECURITY_SELINUX_CHECKREQPROT_VALUE ?19:32
T4<Hound77> It has set to "0".19:34
T4<Hound77> And  CONFIG_SECURITY_SELINUX_DISABLE is also not set.19:36
T4<Hound77> @elros34 There is skip_initramfs on /proc/cmdline .19:48
T4<elros34> so that is your issue19:48
T4<elros34> in your kernel in init/initramfs.c search for commit which adds support for it19:49
T4<Hound77> What should I do then ?19:57
T4<elros34> revert this commit20:00
T4nfmakaba was added by: nfmakaba20:00
osum4estis there a kernel parameter you need to enable uart? i'm getting a bunch of messages over uart for the bootloader but dont see any while the kernel (with vt enabled) is booting21:11
osum4esthere's the uart: https://pastebin.com/PKQrSCQv gets stuck at "[39140] Jumping to kernel via monitor" then doesn't print anything until it reboots21:17
T4<elros34> @osum4est: does it print log without vt enabled?21:59
osum4estjust checked, and yes, it does. it barely gets anywere with vt enabled. looks like there is "earlycon" and "earlyprink" kernel parameters that i could tyr22:00
osum4estexcept i'm not really sure how to set those up. it looks like earlyprintk can take a ttySn but i need ttyHSL0. which didn't seem to work22:08
osum4estand no idea how to get the msm_hsl_uart address for earlycon22:13
T4<elros34> you need to enable early printk in kernel config maybe its also possible via boot args22:21
osum4estelros34, ok, enabled. looks like i need to find the address for the device though since it's not ttyS0 or ttyS1. the docs say it will be port:{addr} but /proc/tty/driver/msm_serial_hsl gives me "0: uart:MSM mmio:0x075B0000 irq:12 tx:7948 rx:0 RTS|CTS|DTR|DSR|CD" is it the mmio address or the tx number?22:37
osum4estwell neither of them worked22:49
osum4estelros34, mal: aha, got it. earlycon using the mmio address worked. here's the uart log: https://pastebin.com/82CPHW7423:11
r0kk3rzwow thats one early kernel panic23:31
malif I read that it's failing to create console, we usually disable it in sfos23:33
malosum4est: did you disable verity in kernel?23:33
osum4esti commented out all the verity lines in my defconfig. do i need to specifically set them to n? or modify some code somewhere as well?23:34
r0kk3rzjust remove the console option from the kernel command line23:35
malosum4est: well you will see in the output .config if verity is enabled or not23:35
osum4estmal, right. just checked, and no verity options are set in the .config file. r0kk3rz, i'll try it23:36
osum4estremoving console options from kernel cmd doesn't help...23:38
r0kk3rzbut what do the logs say?23:39
osum4estlog with earlycon, but no console: https://pastebin.com/mT60Z85g23:42
osum4estunless i need console=none or something but that doesn't seem to be an option23:48
r0kk3rzosum4est: for a laugh, disable CONFIG_TTY23:59
