xmn | just got back from a little walk in the park :) | 00:46 |
---|---|---|
xmn | edp_17 only see this one for me :( | 00:47 |
T42 | <edp_17> Then I've joined to the wrong channel. For searching #pine64 or @pine64, it brings up Pine64 Global. | 00:51 |
xmn | heh | 00:53 |
xmn | I thought the link I posted earlier only had 3 or so channels | 00:53 |
T42 | <edp_17> @elros34 : I have tried to build the qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin from your repo, but not sure how to use the branch that includes the hdmi stuff. I tried command 'rpm/dhd/helpers/build_packages.sh --mw=https://github.com/elros34/qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin/tree/external_display -s rpm/qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin.spec' but it sad, this repo n | 00:54 |
T42 | ot found. | 00:54 |
xmn | irc.pine64.org then #pinephone | 00:54 |
xmn | well you can dm if you want, not sure how much help I can be. But happy to share my experience so far. | 00:56 |
T42 | <edp_17> xmn: I am not on irc, only telegram. Maybe that's why I didn't find. 🤔 | 00:57 |
xmn | ah, yeah sorry | 00:57 |
T42 | <edp_17> np | 00:58 |
T42 | <elros34> @edp_17 just clone it manually and build | 00:58 |
xmn | they had to kill the bridge to irc because of issue | 00:58 |
xmn | they're planning on working on it. ... eventually | 00:58 |
T42 | <edp_17> xmn: Ok, don't worry about it, if I have questions I'll drop a pm. Thanks! | 00:58 |
T42 | <edp_17> @elros34 : Okay, I thought could do it directly from the github repo. | 00:59 |
xmn | cool | 00:59 |
T42 | <edp_17> @elros34 : as the hdmi change is 2 years old bu the current qt5-qpa-hwcomposer-plugin only changed 2 month ago, will it be a problem using the old one on the device? | 01:01 |
T42 | <elros34> yeah would be good to upgrade it annd remove some code buggy code | 01:04 |
T42 | <edp_17> Wouldn't be easier to try to patch the current version in hybris/mw? | 01:04 |
T42 | <edp_17> How should I know which code is the buggy one? 😊 | 01:05 |
T42 | <elros34> you can rebase patch on top of master if you want but it took me some time to do this as I didn't understand the code so good luck | 01:06 |
T42 | <elros34> maybe when new xperia with hdmi out support will be come then hwc2 will get hdmi support | 01:06 |
T42 | <edp_17> Yeah, I downloaded the patch and tried to git apply, but it failed. 😒 Now if I want to use it I have to manually apply. 😭 | 01:10 |
T42 | <edp_17> Well, at least I don't need to develop the code from scratch. 😃 | 01:10 |
T42 | <elros34> so old code don't work/compile or you want to rebase it just for fun? | 01:18 |
T42 | <edp_17> Not just for fun. I am hoping with this I can get HDMI working on my hammerhead and treltexx. Or that code will no longer work on them? | 01:20 |
T42 | <elros34> dunno, compile and test. If it dodesn't work or works bad then rebase/fix it | 01:22 |
T42 | <edp_17> Will try, thanks. | 01:25 |
Oksana | Was there an update of Sailfish OS on Fxtec Pro1 recently, or something? There is no camera from lock screen anymore - I have to put in the lock screen PIN code before I can launch camera. | 02:55 |
Oksana | Also, where can I find connection error logs for VPN GUI of Sailfish OS? Idle->Connecting...->Problem with connection cycle is exhausting. | 02:56 |
Oksana | And yes, openconnect from command-line works just fine. | 02:57 |

T42 | <DrRamm> Guys, maybe anyone know is it possible bring up sailfish to MTK soc like 6580? Maybe you know someone | 10:38 |

T42 | <edp_17> xmn: I have tested the battery life on pinephone. It was interesting. I left it on charger whole night (bt, wifi, data, gps, screen off) At 8am, it was on 34%!! When unpluged the cable it said: Charging... :) and the percentage dropped to 30%. Then I plugged the cable back in, it said: Not enough power to charge but the percentage jump | 14:01 |
T42 | ed up to 42%. Then cable out, rebooted, cable back in and left it on charger until now (1:57pm). Now it is on 79%. But rapidly goes down, however I didn't switch on anything just sometimes the screen to check the battery level. I hope this helps. | 14:01 |
T42 | <edp_17> The "mcetool --get-suspend-stats" says: | 14:01 |
T42 | <edp_17> uptime: 20033.307 | 14:01 |
T42 | <edp_17> suspend_time: 0.000 | 14:01 |
T42 | <edp_17> This explains the drain. | 14:01 |
mal | @edp_17 was that with usb cable or without? | 15:03 |
T42 | <edp_17> Cable in, actually. | 15:05 |
mal | with usb cable connected to charger or computer the device is never suspending, that is normal | 15:09 |
mal | to get proper values reboot the device and let it stay on without usb cable connected for some time and then check suspend stats | 15:10 |
T42 | <edp_17> mal: I'll do, thanks. | 15:48 |
T42 | <ankaos> ninja: error: unknown target 'droidmedia', did you mean 'libdroidmedia'? | 16:17 |
T42 | <ankaos> say me | 16:17 |
mal | do you have new enough dhd submodule | 16:21 |
mal | in rpm/dhd folder | 16:21 |
T42 | <ankaos> mal:`make -j$(nproc --all) hybris-hal droidmedia` use | 16:23 |
T42 | <ankaos> say me ninja: error: unknown target 'droidmedia', did you mean 'libdroidmedia' | 16:23 |
T42 | <ankaos> and dont have rpm/dhd | 16:23 |
mal | I mean $ANDROID_ROOT/rpm/dhd | 16:26 |
mal | sorry, check how new hybris/hybris-boot repo is | 16:27 |
mal | mixed some things, that hybris/hybris-boot is where droidmedia target is defined | 16:28 |
T42 | <ankaos> mal: okey. ı see | 16:29 |
mal | go to $ANDROID_ROOT/hybris/hybris-boot and do "git fetch github" and then "git pull github master" | 16:30 |
T42 | <edp_17> mal: news on the pinephone battery. I unplugged at 85% (4pm) then 3 hours later it dropped to 55%. Wifi,bt,data,gps,screen off. | 19:30 |
T42 | <edp_17> Suspend stat was still 0. I give up. 😁 | 19:30 |
mal | now you need to check logs what prevents it from suspending | 19:50 |
piggz | we havnt enabled crust yet | 19:52 |
spiiroin | also, is the kernel configured to have autosleep / early-suspend? check /sys/power dir, are there wake_lock, wake_unlock, and state/autosleep files in there? | 20:26 |
vknecht | may be wrong, but aren't wake_{lock,unlock} and autosleep android-kernel specific ? not sure that applies to pinephone case, with its [almost-]mainline kernel... at least I don't see those files in /sys/power here on almost-mainline idol3 kernel | 20:38 |
xmn | edp_17 if I remember I'll do a test today | 20:44 |
xmn | I did one last night, but had tons of apps open and wifi/BT/GPS on :). So from 65% -> 11% in about 3-4 hours. Which is not surprising, actually thought it would die faster under those conditions. | 20:46 |
mal | vknecht: mainline kernel does have wakelock support, maybe it's not enabled or there is some other way enabled normally in linux kernels | 21:05 |
mal | CONFIG_PM_WAKELOCKS | 21:06 |
T42 | <edp_17> xmn: That's not bad. Can you please let me know how to install manjaro to the pinephone? I'd like to give it a try. If you are on Telegram, you can pm me. Thanks. | 21:07 |
xmn | unfortunately I'm only on irc :) | 21:08 |
xmn | can we not do dm over a bridge? | 21:08 |
xmn | I guess that doesn't make sense. Since it talking through a bot | 21:09 |
xmn | edp_17 I have yet to install anything over the manjaro that came with the phone. Just upgrade it and then change to the testing branch. But you can flash the jumpdrive image via etcher like app or what ever to a sdcard. Then boot to the jumpdrive plug it into your machine then flash the emmc like you would an sdcard or HD. Boom, should be done. | 21:29 |
xmn | https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Jumpdrive/releases/tag/0.6 | 21:29 |
xmn | I currently have Sailfish on a 32gb sdcard running pretty nicely. manjaro on emmc and will do 2 or 3 more cards with mobian, maemo and multiboot | 21:30 |
xmn | Spending most of my time at the moment in manjaro and sailfish | 21:31 |
xmn | trying to see how much is missing in sailfish for me. | 21:31 |
xmn | hope that help :D | 21:31 |
kalube | Hiya, can anyone help with building for msm8996 devices? I'm getting "error: frameworks/native/services/surfaceflinger/Android.bp:139:1: "libsurfaceflinger" depends on undefined module "//hardware/qcom/display-caf/msm8996:display_intf_headers"" when doing make hybris-hal | 23:29 |
